THE DESIGN CONSULTATION
The consultation is your opportunity to discuss your ideas and plans, your likes and dislikes, your goals and aspirations. Use the notebook we'll send you in your welcome pack to collect tear-sheets from magazines, colour swatches and anything else that inspires you.

Consider what you want the room to do, the functionality required within the space; who is going to use it, what storage might be required and any pieces you may want to retain from furniture or accessories you already own.

It is also important to consider how much you want to spend in broad terms. It is very important for the designer to have an idea about the budget, as this will ensure that the design solution reflects both your budget and your design aspirations.

For the designer this is their opportunity to get to know you and the space to be designed. They are there to listen, facilitate and extend your ideas, not to impose a particular style. They are trained to reflect a multitude of tastes and styles.

The consultation will involve looking at the space and discussing in detail all elements that may be included; furniture, lighting, flooring and window treatments. Additional items like accessories, bed linen, cutlery and crockery will also be discussed if that is what you are looking for.

The designer will take measurements of the space and bring samples with them to look at finishes and colours with you. Your designer will summarise the meeting with you before leaving to ensure the brief is clearly understood and therefore reflected in your design presentation.
